Talent Jungle People - Lucas Baumann, Princess Cruises, Alumnus SSTH and HTW Chur

Cruising where the way is the goal. During my time in the SSTH Hotel Management School in Switzerland, I have learned becoming a world citizen and after my BBA in Hospitality and Tourism Management I decided to go abroad, experiencing the world and its different cultures. My strong desire to travel the world has led me to become a proud Princess Cruises Crew Member. This offers me the opportunity to work and travel at the same time what a wonderful experience.
Every ship is a small international melting pot with crew from all over the world (up to 78 different nations). Being around with international colleagues broadens your personal horizon immensely and also helps you getting international contacts all over the world. In almost every port we are sailing I know somebody and like this I always feel like being at home no matter where I am on this globe.
Smooth and slow travelling, in a hectic time as we have it now, is an experience nobody should ever miss. The Crown Princess is such a big ship that you do not feel that we are at sea. It is like a rock in the wave breakers. It feels like a majestic gliding over the water. Cruising the Baltic is a wonderful experience. Even for me being a Swiss it was challenging in the beginning to get used to the cold temperatures here in the summertime and it never gets dark. Sunset to sunrise is not even in four hours.
The Scandinavian cities like Stockholm, Helsinki and Oslo are so fascinating that you want to stay there forever. These cities are built on thousands of islands which makes every sail away a memorable experience.
St. Petersburg with its long history and the world famous Hermitage museum is a must for everybody being in the region. This museum has so many pieces of art that if you look at every piece for 20 seconds it would take you 3 years until you have finished it Amazing isnt it? Going ashore for crew is sometimes a little difficult as you need to have a British Seamen book or purchase a shuttle ticket. But it is definitely worth it.
Tallinn is well known for its natural landscaping and natural beauty whereas Gdynia is famous for its amber handicraft production.
On this tour we also have the chance to show our passengers the longest bridge in Europe. When we are sailing underneath the Crown Princess almost touches its funnel.
Be open minded, enjoy your life whenever you can and escape completely. The world is yours.
